Extra-large antique paper-lined Japanese pottery vase.
Made during the Meiji period (1860s-1900s) and used to store and transport tea leaves at that time.
To protect the tea leaves from moisture, the outside of the vase is carefully covered with Japanese paper. This plain type is extremely rare and exudes a calm presence and serenity.
Under natural light or indirect lighting, the texture of the washi paper emerges more richly, bringing a sense of wabi-sabi beauty to the space.
It is in very good condition with no cracks or major damage.
A one-of-a-kind gem that evokes the Japanese sense of beauty.
